T-5 Fifth Gear not working

Well my retarded ass decided to be lazy last night and after hittin up WW was on my way back coming down 696 I was putzing in 5th and got into it a little bit to pick up some speed to get around some people so I could exit on telegraph and BOOM fucker popped out of 5th and now there is nothing there. 1-4 work fine just no OD. Any ideas? The trans is coming out regardless but was wondering if it was an easy fix or if the thing has to be completely torn down. Its a brand new t-5 too :banghead:

How brand new?....I would contact where you got the trans, and get it replaced.....Sounds like 5 gear failed, obviesly its not from abuse as its the OVERdrive gear. Its not that is a HARD thing to fix on a T5....But should be taken care of for you.

A friend of mine bought it a couple years ago from D&D ran it for about 500 miles and went Auto. So its basically brand new but not technically :lol: so I doubt they would honor any sort of warranty

I have known them to be a bit easier on customer who have had units rebuilt before.
 
that's an easy fix, pop the tail housing off 5th gear is right there prolly the shift fork or the dog ring.
