Surging idle on a stock 5.0

Still hunting that stupid fitting.

I have a gauge. I might just swap the fpr as good measure

Man it’s a total turd.

But I remember in 86, I thought it was the fastest shit on earth. 86 T top AOD jalapeño GT
We drove it off the line in Dearborn. Watched it come down the line too. I’m sure there are Polaroids somewhere

I thought I was a badass

On a completely stock car. I can’t see where that would be needed. I sprayed all over the Intake..... I’ll focus on the TB tonight. It will start and run and drive. Just every now and then idle will drop to 500 rpm and sometimes die

Ford dealers used them back in the day to fix your issue (on stock cars)

I will try to find the Ford P/N and TSB

True story, we used a few of those back in my dealership days. Also, the TB adjustment screw would wear a dimple into the stop plate after years, causing the blade to close more than it should. The IAC couldn't compensate enough to smooth out the idle and things get wonky. Maybe try cracking the blade open another half turn and clean around the perimeter of the blade real well.
Here is one of the IAC bypass plates on fleabay with the part number.

The TV cable is broken. Dealer says obsolete. Parts stores ask if it’s a auto or manual and then say they cant get it.

Joe

I reset the idle. Which helped. Put almost 2 turns on the screw. Tps was way off too.

Sorry, I completely missed that you already adjusted that. I'd agree to put a fuel pressure gauge on next, especially since it won't start at times. I have a gauge set with adaptors you are welcome to use, but I'm on the other side of the Earth for most members here.

GREAT excuse to drive out and check out your Notch.

It only no started once. And it was after it stalled. But then started up a min later.

That damn fuel rail fitting is like finding a unicorn

Pulled codes

33 Canister or egr valve not operating properly

44 Air management system inoperative

94 Secondary air system inoperative

I got the egr squared away.

Code 99 now.

System has not learned to control idle

Bucking and surging going down the road
