Anything on the news? I'm at Main and Ashley and it's all blocked off, cops with ARs, etc...

That is a bad part of town.
Maybe someone lost the key to their BMW?
Obama going to the courthouse there on the next block???
Sold out of craft beer so the hipsters are protesting?

Two men are in custody.. Umm, since when is shooting off fireworks an arrestable offense?
I thought they just give you a warning or a ticket.

Maybe they were disorderly. Ever see publicly intoxicated people in Ann Arbor?

I attend a -lot- of sporting events. Witnessing drunks in public isn't new to me.
I gave up on drinking at games. I find it's more fun to stay sober as it allows you to follow the nuances of the game (hockey).
My little tradition is to sip coffee while suckers hand over $10 per beer.

My wife was up in Ann Arbor the next day for the St Patty's 5k. She said people were talking about it. The guys were drinking and set off some fireworks. The neighbors called the cops. The guys in the house refused to come out, the woman at the door refused to let the police in.

When the tactical crew started showing up (because how dare anybody say no to the police), the neighbors went over to the front porch to try and defuse the situation and talk them into coming out. The neighbors asked the cops "What's with the assault rifles?" and one of the cops said "somebody reported they had a gun. The neighbors deny ever reporting that.

Maybe that's why they haven't been charged with anything yet?
