Sultan of Michigan'

Its not uncommon for alot of high dollar car collections to be "museums" as it alows for cheaper insurance and certain tax advantages guys dont get that rich being dumb,

Missed out on this thread. Although, there really isn't much I can add.

As to the term "sultan of Michigan" it was a term coined by my friend Mike (who since moved to an economically better state down south). It was used to not associate any name in the information age with the collection. It gets the point across [Sultan of Brunai has a massive car collection... ].

One of the original threads regarding the collection is at fchat HERE

Some of the entitlement, and assumptions made in the comments at autoblog are entirely ridiculous. One of the car clubs's members son came out, had made unbelievable comments which prompted the youtube video's creator to disable comments.

The man is a great guy; lives modestly except in his passion for cars. He loves sharing that passion with others... that said, the collection is not open to the public.

A lot of people claiming to know the man have also made tremendous overstatements about him; and corvetteforum's viral nature spiraled out of control. As with much on the web; if it's not current, nobody cares.

Yup he's a cool guy. I toured his museum a few years ago with some other clubs..

He used to drive a different exotic to that little Sat morning cruise at Woodward and 11 mile I think it was? At Auto Zone auto book store

Lingenfelter is his name and yes cars are his game............actually stock market......

Hello Ken I know you are watching.....

Was just by there a few hours ago........ We were talking about the cars as we drove past...... Awesome, Just awesome. How people can be so fucking jealous and hateful over good old american hard work ethic, never ceases to amaze me. I guess it is the good old "victim mentality"........ Very unfortunate.... Fuck em if they cant be happy for the guy.....

This confuses me.

He still makes the trip to the Autozone 14/ woodward... but hasn't been able to lately due to a very busy schedule. Not always bringing an exotic; but he has brought more than a few of them; 575 SA, 599 GTB, F430 Spider, Maserati Gransport (some ldt. edition coupe), 288 GTO, Enzo, Veyron, CRC Z06, AAT Zo6, Nissan GTR, RS4...

He recently took delivery of his GT500 Supersnake... and loves it!

ive been to the warehouse , met the man . and all i can say is very eclectic taste in cars ... he has THE granturismo garage in real life ... he fired the enzo for us .. that was just fucking spectacular ... poeple hate so let em ... its actually refreshing to see someone actually make it that far in life . kind of like " the dream can still happen " ya know ? and he is not stingy with the cars ... you see many of them every sat morning ... his open house allows you to be as close as possible to the cars ... no ropes holding you away .

he is a car guys car guy . and we should congratulate him on his accomplishments

How do I see this collection? Please someone take me. I would pay to see the cars!!!! Hook me up! Is he coming to the picnic?

does anyone know if he has an office in Birmingham?

My fiancée has seen a couple cars of his in the Maple/Woodward area, and today we were out to lunch and saw another from the video, in the same vicinity.

There was an open house earlier this year, I want to say in the March timeframe. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attend, hopefully he does the same next year.

Lots of expensive cars, and other collections in that area. He doesn't spend much time over there other than to goto the Autozone, and have service on the newer cars performed.
