stupid snow

My work called and said not to go in today, so I sat back on my ass and had a great time doing nothing.

If i were you id be on the look out for something smashed with a 5.3 in it, just hit hard. Then get all the swap stuff and scrap the car, sell the random good stuff to offset the cost

3800 sc it. Not uncommon to swoop up a solid running clunker thats under $500.

90* swap for 90* swap and the bolt holes should be 99% on par for everything.

The thread followed the title not the question in the first post.

My wife took my truck to work yesterday so I stayed home with the kids. They're off again today but after the "day off" yesterday I'm paying someone to come watch them today so I can go to work.

can it be done for 1500-2000 ?

Long answer: It all depends on how much work you do yourself and how much you pay for parts/labor. Can you fabricate motor mounts or are you going to buy some off-the-shelf? Can you modify a wiring harness? Do you have HPTuners so that you can set up the PCM to work? Are you willing to buy and part out a roller vehicle to sell un-needed parts to recoup funds? You need to answer all of these before anyone can answer your question.

Short answer: No. Even if you can do the big things yourself all of the little things will add up and blow your budget.

that doesn't sound like a bad idea , its not hard to build a 3800 to make decent power either , 3800 bolt up to a 4l60e ? , computer work would still need to be done but im sure the driveshaft would not need to be modified , wire harness would still need to be modified but im sure it wouldn't need to be worked as much as a v8 harness , motor mounts and exhaust work , hmmmmmmmm might have my gears turning in a different direction

Same bolt pattern 4.3 to 3800. I'd think PCM4less could reflash the pcm for it to work.

Wire harness should need minimal to no mods, but yes, exhaust would need reworking.
