Stupid question of the week: Do I need a title to trade in a vehicle at the dealer?

Yes, I'm aware this is probably the dumbest question ever.

Do I need a title to trade in a car at the dealership? I do have the release of lein letter.

Reason I am asking. Wife doesn't remember having her title for the last one she traded in, so she thinks she doesn't need one to trade in her current 'mobile.

Enjoy.........:icon_hamm

We can request a new title to be sent from the SOS. We call them "lost title" papers. Just be sure you make them aware of it ahead of time. They will need to verify the lien has been satisfied.

Thanks Trunk, we do have the "lien sign off letter" for it. Looking at Grand Cherokee's, Doh!

What does it cost to apply for a replacement title?

It's $15 + $5 for instant, just don't have the time. Car was in her name before we were married so then there's explaining that. We'll try the dealer first. She needs to be sure she wants a GC and not an Explorer anyway so it's not any time wasted on our end going to dealer first.

If only you could get the Ecoboost (Explorer) in a Limited and not have to get the Sport, not a fan of the Sport appearance.

I guess it really is only adding the 20's and the "Explorer" across the hood. We'll see how Fri afternoon at the Jeep dealer goes......:boxer:

We have my F150 Supercrew for family trips, most of the time when she's driving, she's by herself in the vehicle. Grand Cherokee got alot of updates for 2014 compared to the Durango's.

Rear of the 14 Jeep GC with the front of a 14 Durango would have me sold.

That Jeep just looks like it has bags under its eyes and has already been in a head on collision with a wall of dense poop.

Are you looking at 2014 grand cherokee? If so, give me a call, I have some very important advice.
