Is anyone around here building a (gulp) road race / autocross / touring type car??
I am seeing some awesome projects here. I'm inspired by the engineering, the skills and attention to detail. I have a decent '88 hatch that is a "family" project to get my teenaged stepson involved. I want to build a street car that's got outstanding brakes and handling more than big power.

Yes, I know some may take this as blasphemy!! I'm willing to be flamed at the stake for my beliefs!! Who knows, I might pull a "corner carver" or 2 out blinking into the light.
 
There are a handful of pylon bashers on here. Ive always wanted to give it a go with my cobra. Throw the maximum motorsport catalog at your car and you should be good to go.
 
I'm just one small sack of gold away from my dreams.... Well maybe a medium sack. Until my ship comes in, I'll be scrounging and dealing to get what I need.
I want to teach the kid to take off ramps at speeds that scare his friends. Or pin them to the seatbelts under braking. THEN throw them back into the seat!

sound like fun. i'm all about involving the family. i've lived vicariously through my son for the last 2-3 years.......:icon_smil

btw, where you located?......toledo area?......
 
The only way I want to live vicariously through him is to have those 40 years back to do it all over again!!! I'm really open with him about the mistakes I made, hoping he avoids them.
Not that far South. I'm in Carleton with dudek and red347lx.
