stupid car , weird problem

ok so my wifes aztek is acting stupid , its got the auto headlights and the security feature so the headlights stay on for a min or 2 after the cars off ,., well when you shut the car off the headlights stay on forever , ive checked fuses and relays , ive traced it down to the headlight relay and the parking lamp relays staying on , ive swapped them out for different relays and still the same issue ,., theres no OFF position for the headlights its either auto or on ,., any ideas guys ? ,., need this fixed asap before she goes to work tomorrow
 
it should, it should make it manual on (by you). I am not sure that the asstekz have the ability though to easily disable it.
 
pulled the drl relay and fuse , same issue , 2 relays stuck in the on position , unplug the relays that are on and you can hear them click on and off
 
after the key is off goto on then back to auto should shut them off. You can also put a resister in the sensor to make it think its always daylight. Otherwise it may need a BCM
 
I pulled the battery for the 2nd time , the lights shut off and stayed off this time , I cycled the car a few times so the lights would come on , they shut back off on there own about 5 times

I took the drl relay apart because I wasn't hearing it click , its fried , could that have been the issue then me pulling the battery again reset something ?
 
GM electronic nitemares I work at advance auto so many people come in with GM electronic problems its sickning! Draws are most common after working here I know why I really am a ford guy lol!! I will never own a GM
