Streetfighterz Ride of the Century 2011

Is it any different than when we all used to stand around at the street races? We all went, to participate and watch. It was dangerous. It was illegal. It wasn't the smartest. But it was fun. :)

i mean it's entertaining to watch, and all, but c'mon, the 9sec cars on telegraph, and mike's analogies are def. not an apples to apples comparison. lead guy takes out 20 other bikes and i promise you this b.s. of "they all knew the risks" will fly right out the window and the litigation will commence hot and heavy. survivors, and surviving family members will want their pound of flesh. all that aside, i'm just amazed at the total disregard for life and limb that these crazy fuckers exhibit. the guy standing backwards on the bike for 60 seconds?.....damn, that's all your life is worth?...to look cool to a bunch of other dumb-asses?.....:dunno:

I think it's a fair comparison.

Like I said, they're both illegal. They both involved high speed motorsports. We've all been around one or the other. However, if in the middle of one of these packs, somebody bailed and took out a few other bikes... I highly doubt they would be sueing the guy who crashed. That's just silly. Like I said, anybody that's involved in one of these rides knows exactly what goes on and that there are some risks involved. Think it's too much? Hang at the back of the pack and ride safe and it's like any other day on the road. Want to be part of the fun? Get up front and take your chances.

The only difference is that I can find dozens of articles about spectators or other drivers being killed at/by street races. Not so much for stunters.
