We had a brand new F-350 Diesel dump truck stolen late last night/early this morning from Varsity Ford. This is a Bright Red dump truck with VIN-1FDRF3HT3CEB25731. We are offering a $1000.00 reward for information leading to the recovery of this truck.

I hear a lot of those are taken to Canada.

Any ideas as to what happen that you can share?

Looks like this kind of theft is only going to increase.
Sorry to hear you folks have to deal with this Matt.

I will certainly be watching out for it.

It was sitting out front, the XL trucks don't have PATS keys, so it's a pretty simple theft. Second one in as many years. We had cameras installed, security guards and they still got this one.

Any details about the suspect? Did the camera catch any of that? Race, sex? Any vehicles that were creepin before the theft?

I really have to think that this truck was drivin less then 30 miles from varsity, Or they have a legitimate plate for a "red dump truck" that they slap on this one and drive it with less vulnerability. Probably took them what? 2 mins to slimjim the door open, and a couple more mins to hot wire the ignition?

sucks Matt....we had an escalade taken and found it later in Georgia driven my a Baptist Minister. He bought it off a B lot for 10k...and didnt think anything was wrong buying a 80k vehicle for 10k. (that had the dash vin tag removed)...

That sucks! We had someone steal one of our F-250s in under 2 minutes on camera. After seeing how they did it, all you need is a flathead screwdriver and a hammer. I love the fact that replacement keys are cheap (mexicans seem to lose them alot) but they deff make the truck easy to steal.

Why not invest in some simple you place it style GPS units. Have put it somewhere in the vehicle that requires a lot of effort to remove or a special tool or something. Then have it so that it activates and sends a signal to the police once it is off the lot. Then just remove it when the vehicle sells.

2min? did they drink a beer too? hahaha

its a bad design by ford on the lock mech. a company sells a device you install inside the doors around the lock and rod.

my excursion and f250s had them

The truck is worth as much in pieces as it is/was on the lot. If you've looked at replacement parts for those trucks they bring a premium. Time to watch craigslist within 500 miles for a dump bed.

Damn Mexicans! !!! What a sec, I'm Mexican.... lol

They'll probably use it to smash/steal am ATM some were.. why else would you steal a dump truck?

We think that's what happened with the last one. There was a report of a dump truck being used to do that right around the time our last one went missing.

We are going to start blocking them in (non-PATS key) vehicles. It's fucking sad we can't display our vehicles without some the scumbags trying to steal them.
