anyone done a carburated motor in a 50 car and actually got the stock tach to work correctly? i've got it working, kinda, but it tells me in ideling at 3000 rpm, and goes way over seven with slight throttle applied.
i am running a msd 6a box, and am kinda thinking maybe if i could get a tach adapter for it, that the stock one may work.
does anyone have any imput?

thanks

I don't think the tach adapter will work for that. The tach adapted was used on cars with individual coil packs cause you couldn't get a signal for all the coils by tapping off of one. You problem is that your stock tach is set up for a signal from the EEC which is not the same as what you get from the coil or an MSD box which is an actual RPM signal. Your probably going to have to go aftermarket.

If someone else has any other ideas feel free to chime in.
