stock 5.0 timing question

I have a stock 5.0 convertible needs a little pep in It's step. What would be a safe jump in timing to not hurt the car. Cam thoughts would be great also. Again it's all stock so any thoughts on helping out the ole' mustang would be awesome.

14 degrees initial. 93 octane fuel. Stock cam is best choice for the stock heads and intake.

yes 14 is good. But I have run it as high as 17 with no issues. Car ran faster that way for me.

10 degrees. 12, you won't notice any change. start with 14, if you like it keep it there. if not try 17. e303 cam would help with stock heads also.

is this an auto or stick? if an auto, you will have to do much more then timing.

Start with a 4.10 gear and 3000 stall. Your normal exhaust work (headers,h-pipe, mufflers) Remember this car is HEAVY!
