MOUNT MORRIS TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- Former Michigan State basketball star and Detroit Pistons player Mateen Cleaves has been arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.

Cleaves was a captain for Michigan State's 2000 NCAA championship team. Detroit drafted him in 2000 with the 14th pick overall. He also played for Sacramento, Cleveland and Seattle over six NBA seasons.

You all say that like any other collegiate athlete of past or present hasn't ever partied/drank/done something dumb. Sounds like he made a mistake. Doesn't sound like he ran over someones grandmother.


Should he be punished just like anyone else because he was DUI? For sure. It only gets blown out of proportion because of whom he is tho
