Stang shock strut differences?

What years of mustang struts were different? I put a set of 94 knuckles on and there is a gap between the knuckle and strut where the 2 bolts go of about an 1/8 inch. This can't be the factory design. So I'm trying to see why mine are different. I've got coilovers btw

I was wondering the same thing, I just installed coilovers on my car with lakewood struts off an '82 and I had the same problem. I found washers that filled the gap perfectly though one on each side.

Chassis change in 94 so if you referring to the 89 or 92 in your sig than yes they are different.

79-93 (Fox)
94-98 (SN-95)
99-04 (New Edge)
05+ (S-197)

monroe used to send shims with replacement struts when the first sn95 cars came out. I don't know if they still offer them now though ?

just a fyi 86 and earlier spindle/strut mounting ears are different than 87 up. one or the other is thinner. lakewood shipped shims with the drag struts. i have a few of them i think somewhere if you need them.

Yes for some reason the 4-6 cyl spindle is thicker where the strut mounts to it. Thats why strange struts are ony offered for V8 cars. I just changed my car over to 5 lug and used V8 spindles and had to use washers to fill the gap.
