Spring training, where anything is possible:)

X2 and +1

These are the facts. One year does not an All-Star make. He's an excellent fielder, no matter where you put him. There will always be a place for an excellent fielder. As mentioned earlier, his offense numbers are not 3rd Base type numbers. I think Larish would be better offensively. But, after watching the circus that was the left side of the infield, I'll be happy to see good defense. So much for the All-Star infield from last year, eh?

No kidding. If they can just get into the season with their infield INTACT, I will be happy! Cabrera has another season under his belt and the other three are all good if not better than good defenders. Last years cluster#@$@ of moving people around was a disaster.

takes alot more than numbers to be a good 3rd baseman, how many rings does A-rod have?? team chemistry has alot to do with it, and Inge is better at 3rd for the team and himself. If he comes close to his 06 #'s they'll be fine.

I also hate it when the mgr moves everyone around. Put them in one position and leave them there. I'd like to see Parish make the team but I just don't think he's ready yet, there also isn't a spot for him unless he hits the cover off the ball this spring. He's not going to play 1st or 3rd, unless there's an injury or trade. And they won't bring him up to ride the bench when he can play everyday in AAA.

Still always comes down to pitching & defense wins ballgames..

If he comes close to his '06 numbers I'll be giddy, but he still won't be close to being an all-star. I'd like to see him win a gold glove, but too many times they tie that to performance at the plate too.

How many rings does Inge have??

You aren't saying you'd rather have inge than a-rod, are you?

you can't say he wouldn't get picked as a reserve for the team. If he has a good first half that could happen. With a-rod being voted in every year there's always room for others.
Actually I'd rather have Inge, rodriguez is a big distraction & last year proved the team doesn't react well to being in the spotlight from day 1. If they start out good & stay in the running all year that's different. But being handed a trip to the WS before they even play a game just put too much pressure on them. Then the injury bug hit, guys playing different positions etc..

Inge would have to hit .300 and have 20 home runs before he'd get put on the team, even as a reserve. Evan Longoria will be an All-Star for years. Melvin Mora is another who will be ahead of Inge. It's not like they keep more than 3 Third Baseman on an All-Star team. You'd need half of the Third Baseman in the AL to be on the DL by the break. It's not happening.

well I said Inge could make the all star team and I was right, AGAIN!!!

Again? what were you right about the first time?

Nothing like having 2 guys make the all-star team that are hitting below .265 :dontknow:

Inge deserves it though. Hitting with power and driving in runs while playing a terrific 3rd base, he really should have made it ahead of Michael Young. His numbers are way better than they were even in '06. I just hope he doesn't screw up his swing in the HR derby!

I'm happy for him and the other tree guys. I think Edwin Jackson deserves to start, even with a 7-4 record. He probably should be 12-2 or 11-3. Of course the same thing could be said of Zach Grienke with K.C.
