Spend $50k on a Mustang...

I have no idea how that fuck ugly paint scheme got greenlit. It'll be gone. Shortly.

It would look tough as nails being all black with just the white boss mustang markings on the side. That thing is fucking hideous.

The guy that's the head of global marketing got one and immediately wrapped it matte black. That oughta tell someone something.

The big fuck up is that the wheels have accent paint. If you're going to try and steal the GT3 motif, don't half ass it. Ultra JC Whitney.

Shit happens, at least it was an easy fix. I kept waiting for the "My car burst into flames" post.

So did I. I was gonna contact him and see if he wanted to replace it with the one we have sitting on the showroom floor :)

Sounds like it was a possibility. Pretty surprised with a flagship model like this that they miss something as simple as a ground wire.
Human error. More robots, less humans!

It goes down the line just like any other Mustang. The guy installing the wiring bundle doesn't really care which model it is. He treats them all with the same respect and care (which should be a lot).
They have gotten A LOT better in recent years. I met a bunch of guys at AAI. They all really seem to care about the product they are building.

The last thing I want to be doing on a cross country road trip, in the middle of the desert, it to be chasing electrical problems all the way through the wiring loom on a car with 600 miles on it. Not to mention he took it to the dealer who, in typical dealer fashion, took the easy way out and gave him a new battery and sent him on his way.

Yep, because they found a bad battery. They should have traced the problem straight to a loose ground wire. Batteries NEVER go bad and it took the problem another 1400+ miles to happen again. Maybe they should have asked the customer for permission to drive his car for a couple thousand miles to be sure nothing else was wrong?

Maybe a Chrysler worker snuck onto the line between spliffs.

In typical Chrysler working form they would have been drunk also.

Well, at least it made it off the assembly line before it had issues.

 Way to go FIAT!

50k for a mustang? am I missing something?
1-750 (or less) track ready cars. Yes it's ugly.

I feel sorry he paid 50K for something that ugly to begin with.

I agree 100%
Glad I'm not the only one who thought that. Looks more like a mulletzone special than a boss.

Been saying that since day one. That Red KILLS the car.

Have you seen the stripes they put on the new F-150 Harley Trucks? :shake: I wonder about this company sometimes

Or White with Black.

So you really think the battery was bad? LOL @ you

Have you looked at the price of a GT? In 2003, my GT cost 21k out the door with Xplan pricing. Granted, these aren't the same vehicles, but the jump in price astonished me. You're looking at 30k plus for a decently equiped GT.

Yes, but of course you have to feel like "The Man" or in this case "The Dealership" is just trying to fuck someone over. Get over it, the dealership has nothing to gain by just "throwing parts at it". There are guidelines and testing procedures a tech must adhere to when replacing a battery under warranty.

Again it took the car 1400+ miles to act up again. Who's to say that the battery wasn't the main issue and during the 1400+ miles the ground didn't work itself loose? Have you driven one of these cars? They have a VERY stiff suspension. Maybe the ground wire wasn't tighten all the way and worked loose.

Either way, nobody knows for sure.

Spliffs? You have a few drinks during lunch?

You're going to have to clarify. Do you not know what a spliff is? Sorry, I don't know what they called them in the Cretaceous Period. It's the little paper wrap with special leaves in it people smoke.

So your defense is that it had two different problems within the first 2000 miles. and that's somehow supposed to make the guy feel better? Dealership logic. Gotcha.

Did I miss where I was suppose to make the guy feel better? I'm just pointing out there may have been two problems, I know in your perfect world things don't go wrong, but we (most people) live in the real world.

Seems like you're trying to justify a dealer mistake with a fantasy "what if".... if it was anybody but Ford, you'd be pointing the same finger I am.

No, I'm pointing out that BRAND NEW batteries can have dead cells. We've had a few replaced on BRAND NEW vehicles just this year. I just did 2 months ago on an Escape. When we prepped the vehicle it was fine, two days later the battery died. We replaced the bad battery and haven't had an issue since.

I'm curious if the dealer fixed it themselves, or did they have to call the Tech Hotline (where I work)

This is an isolated incident, not a common problem I am seeing on Mustangs.

I had a loose ground on the core support of this Grand Prix I fixed. Car was cutting out...I found a loose bolt in front of my face. MY dumb ass, pushes it down and it burn the numbers of the bolt right into my finger tip. That thing had to be a million degrees! I'm lucky it didn't catch that car on fire.
