Nothing worse than having an idiot above you calling the shots . I've tried, and tried, and tried, and tried to get a business line from one of the local ISPs. "We don't need that, a T1 is what we need!" Yeah, 35 years ago a T1 was bad ass, now it's a pile of shit. When he retires in a few years, I'm turning shit around here.
I downloaded Windows 10 yesterday on a computer in our lab, just to see what's going to break when people start using that and Edge. I did it on my way out knowing it would take forever. 6 hour ETA download for a 3.5GB file.
Netgear N300, it is probably 3-4 years old. I Plugged this PC directly into the modem to eliminate the router from the equation, and I got the higher speeds. Got it back up again with the router and now its back to normal.
This speed test is with the router plugged back in.
Your Netgear should still be good. Have you upgraded speeds with Comcast recently? Sometimes when people upgrade, they forget to power cycle their router to get the new speed. If you want a new router, have a look at the TP-Link Archer C7 or C9, both are really good.
