Speaking of cops and tickets, I got my annual speeding ticket from the Utah State Police.

It's a charity thing they radar you for at this thing called the Utah Fast Pass, so no, it's not a legit ticket that counts against your record. Unfortunately I did not break my record of 118 mph over the limit. Next year.

:( I wish I still had my ticket from texas.

120 in a 25. ticket was only $125 and no points! yay for speed

What's the details on doing this?

It's 4 days long and that was the third year they've done it. It's basically full because Utah doesn't really have the capacity to accommodate more than 40 cars worth of people, the support staff, and the cop escorts once you get out into the wilds.

The first year this guy lost control of his Enzo in the general vicinity of 200 mph and scattered pieces of Ferrari well over a quarter mile. Apparently he hit a dip in the road and the car just went airborne for several hundred feet like a frisbee. It was ugly, but he lived after being medivacd out, so now they just radar you on the front straight of MMP. This is not to say the UFP still don't give you a lot of leeway when on the road rallies, as long as you don't drive like an asshole. 2 years ago there was a german dude in a GT3 I thought was going to kill someone else or himself for sure, passing on blind corners and stuff. Ugh.

p.s, if you want to do something similar that's way cheaper, and way more intense, do the Big Bend Open Road Race or the Silver State Classic. I know a bunch of guys that do both of those, and one of them averaged over 200 mph in his race-prepped Camaro over the course of 90 miles at the SSC.
