Spark plug suggestions for a 350?

Trying to buy a set of plugs for the 350 in my Impala- ones in it are fouled and I don't think they're hot enough, this isn't the first time this has happened.

4 bolt main 350, stock stroke (pretty sure, there were no notches for crank clearancing like in a 383 stroker when I had the pan off), dunno what pistons/compression but it's run pump 87 happily, lumpy cam (unknown specs), vortec heads, edelbrock torker manifold, and a Holley 650 double pumper... and it's running way rich.

Any idea what sort of plugs I should buy for this? I don't fully understand plug heat ranges, so I'm hoping for some guidance.

Thanks!

Keep in mind vortec heads need a longer reach plug then those used on older 350's.
If you have a torker manifold they are not vortecs casue it wont bolt up. Vortecs have 4 bolts per side holding the intake on, alot of people call the earlier center bolt heads vortecs when they arent. Finding out wich head you have will help you get the right plug.
If they are indeed vortecs for sure go get a set of plugs for 97 pickup, that it all i use on mine.

Sounds like you have a carb problem to me though

I definitely have a carb problem, but I've pissed away too many thousands of dollars on this car and I just want it gone.

The heads are not center bolt- the intake may not be a torker either, I can't remember. It's got the sawmarks cast on the side of the heads that I've been told denote Vortecs, but I could be wrong.

I guess I need to get back to it and yank a plug to figure out what I have before I can go any farther, haha.

Thanks for the advice thus far!

Pull a valve cover and get some casting #s. You don't have Vortecs, the marks you're talking about have been used for a very long time to help externally ID different heads in the engine plant. It also sounds like a hotter plug will not totally solve your problem. If you're running that rich you'll kill the motor pretty quickly. A buddy ran his LT1 Porsche for maybe a thousand miles running fat before it took out the bearings on a fresh motor.

Alright, the plugs are R44T. Any suggestions or just go with the same? I had run R45TS in the original 305, I don't know if it makes much difference.

Well you didn't say what heads you actually have to see if the plugs are right for the castings and your motor is running rich. Unless the electrodes are really worn, clean up the ones you have and put them back in.. then clean them again when they foul out from running rich..
