spark blowout

Just wondering if there is a coil strong enough for my turbo foxbody I just dont wanna use msd box if I dont have too making about 11lbs of boost. ????

Cause he has had like 2 boxes go out on him. Hook the btm box up ryan. Make sure that you solder everything and heat shrink it. Use proper gauge wires as well. Twisting and taping shit don't cut it. Keep it away from direct heat abd make sure its mounted with the rubber isolators.

Just have bad luck with them I have a 6btm but would rather not use it if its gonna be a problem later on.

i hear you.

i have a digital 7 with built in two step in my car. mounted inside the car. never gave me any trouble..........maybe try a different brand?

on a side note, why dont you just use the stock coil then? stock coil inside my car.

6al-2 is always a good option too. Had the non programmable one with built in 2 step, brand new they're about 250. Never been a fan of buying used electronic components

I'm running the 6AL-2 as well. The digital boxes seem to work better. But installing and wiring and MSD box is important to do it correctly. And hes running .030 on the Gap. Any less and the damn thing wont have enough to make a spark LOL.

Yeah gap is 30 have a msd coil on it dont blow spark out right now but its running phat plugs are black just dont know if it will blow out after lidio tunes it

after reading online....sounds like you can set gap to 26, or use a msd7 like i have. 3 times the jewls of power as the 6 i guess.

I'd try AL's 3923 or go even with AL's 403. If you really are having blow out issues, 403 is what I'd try first. They are not that much more $ to give it a try.

only thing im questioning is......11psi is not like super high it seems. spark blow out can happen that low? i have buddys on all stock everything except a chip and tune from lid. at 9psi and no blow out. car runs like a beast.

Could happen. Another possible attempt for ruling out sbo is to index the spark plugs and have the electrode gap face the exhaust valves.
