Sooooooooo what's everyone doing for insurance?

Either way, one of you will need a family style plan for the baby. Also, when you have the baby, you will need to notify whichever HR is going to handle the insurance within 30 days of the birth so the birth is covered. My wife missed adding our baby to her HR and they refused to cover the bills so we got fucked into paying almost 3-4k

Because of the "spousal surcharge" of $100/month that my company charges, my wife maintains her own insurance through her work and I have the kids on mine (because mine is better/cheaper). We were on the same policy when the kids were both though so I'm not sure how that would work if you had separate policies and then were to put the kiddo on yours.

The shittiest thing of this whole deal is... Before Obamacare... We were looking into insurance for employees to see if we can get them better coverage since majority of them use spousal's insurance... It was going great... Obamacare hit and everything went right down the shitter for it all... Dad pulled the plug...

The other crappy thing is.. I work for a very small company that doesnt offer insurance and my husband is private practice (hes his own employer) so neither of us have insurance offered to us

dam that's a lot of money, my insurance cost me zero out of pocket for my family plan, I do have to pay those pesky union dues though. That's about $80 a month. Sorry guys I couldn't resist lol. It's a shame what one of the richest nations in the world has to pay for health care. The medical world needs to be regulated for sure to keep cost down but due to the politics it never will.

It's just crazy with ObamaCare.. a doctor can bill for $1500 and they might actually get $40 for it.. That's why a lot of places dont want to accept that insurance

I don't have "health insurance". I have a legal alternative under Obama Care

I participate in a "health medical sharing plan". There are 4 of these that you can
legally opt out of traditional health insurance plans for. I have listed two of the
best ones below.
I'm a member of Samaritan's. It most definitely isn't for everyone, but it works well
for my family. It only costs me $498 per month for my family. There are things they
don't cover, but most things, when covered, are covered 100% with no co-pays and
I can see any doctor / hospital I want to go to.
Like I said, it's not for everyone, but for those who it does work for, it works GREAT
and for a lot less cost!

$7,700/year or $641 per month for a PPO that only covers me is what I pay.
My employer pays a portion which is greatly appreciated, but it's still a good deal of money for me out-of-pocket.
There aren't many easy answers to a complicated system, but at the end of the day the current system isn't sustainable.
