Some photos of a friend's new McLaren

A friend of mine picked up a highly optioned McLaren MP4 12C a few days ago and as always when he gets a new car asks if I want to come drive it and get some photos and videos. Of course, I never say no. I don't have time to create a video right now, but here are some photos.

The entire chassis is carbon fiber and aluminum. The car has a ton of other carbon fiber as well.. It weighs just over 2,800 lbs. and makes around 600 HP, so needless to say, it's quick! They are said to go low-mid 10's at mid-high 130's in the 1/4 mile in stock form. It stops on a dime as well with the huge carbon ceramic brakes and the wing assisted air brake which feels like a parachute coming out at speed.. It handles better than anything I've ever driven.

0-60 is about 3 seconds and the top speed is 207 mph.

(Hopefully this info is correct, DBK, correct me if I'm wrong.)

Thought I'd see an 80's mustang looking thing with mclaren badges.......

cool though!!! You like this more than the modded GTR, Rick??

Beautiful, but good luck with those wheels on metro Detroit roads. I hate to even ask what a new rim would cost.

Gorgeous. I'd have to make an insurance claim if I scratched that thing.

one of my favorite cars. McLaren's new P1 Hybrid or whatever its called is crazy badass. Another member on here has a MP4 12C as well.

Someone also posted the 1-hour inside look into McLaren.....it was a great watch.

Rick, Find out if your buddy wants me to drive it as well.....I could do that if he wants.

Very nice combo. Definitely has all the right stuff.

I put mine on the scale at SOCCRA and it was 3220, but it has all the heavy stuff. I think they get down around 3100.

Stupid fast for a stock RWD car on a 305 street tire.

They are really nice, I rode in one a few weeks back. Sadly, being around Amazon/Microsoft means lots of exotics. The guy that bought it paid almost $60k above MSRP. Too rich for my blood. Buying the GTR a few years ago was a bit of a stretch at $95k. If they would do like $150k range, I'd consider it strongly. I often think about another GTR or an R8.
