Some advice on trading in a used (modified) vehicle please.....

Do you like it? How's the mileage. I'm hearing 15ish in the city stock, closer to 19-20 hwy at 65ish....Is that correct?

With tune and some bolt ons, closer to 18-19 city and 21-23 or some cases even higher on hwy......Is that correct?

I consistently got over 20 with my dmax truck in a commute between Oxford and Holly. Never averaged less than that unless I was towing. The average was even higher when I could keep my foot out of it, but I rarely did.

I haven't hand calculated it, the dash read out mostly city I'm just over 16. If I reset the trip before going on a highway type drive it's around 20ish. The truck is pretty much stock, it has a cat back and a PPE canned type tuner on it set on the "economy" tune. I may do a couple small things but it won't be much.

If this deal falls through, I'm open to options. I'm hearing 2008-2010 Ford diesels (6.4??) are great.....I'm assuming the 6.7? is good as well, but probably too much money....

What about Dodges? I've heard the Cummins is arguably the best diesel out of the bunch as far as power potential and fuel economy. Is this true? Not really fond of Chrysler products though.....How's the reliability of the truck on those?

Thanks.

take it off the economy set up and go to the next step up.. should be a performance setting.. you should get even better mileage with that... on my old lb7 i would get better mpg's the more i turned it up

The Cummins is a great engine, I'm not a fan of what is wrapped around it though. The Ford in that year range was too pricey for me to even consider looking at but I haven't heard any horror stories like we did with the 6.0L.

Agreed --- rams are fugly imo. Agreed on the pricey range. I'm worried about these lb7 injector issues---what's the scoop on that? I heard it was an issue with where the injector is located? Sound right?

I've heard/read this, just haven't messed with it much. I figure the more I mess with the the more I'll want to mod it.

Stay away from the 6.4's. They were a huge disappointment, hence the short production run.

This is a bad bitch though ;)

What are you looking for on your truck, cash? It looks like what I've been looking for after quite a bit of searching. I might be able to make this whole thing plenty easier for ya.

Nice truck too bad it is red. Cant you get a new truck pretty close to that price though? Haven't looked at pricing in a while so I may be way off.

I know the 6.0L has a bad rap but with a little effort they can be pretty bullet proof. So i wouldn't write them off. Trying to find a 7.3L truck that doesn't have a bazillion miles on it these days is tough but definitely a good powertrain.

I would certainly hope it's cash, Wouldn't want an IOU ;-)As it sits I would ask 18,000. I'm going to probably buy this other truck in the morning. That makes it easier to part the SS out but it is a PIA and i dont want all of this money tied up. If ur serious, come ck out the truck. I think u will be pleasantly surprised.

Thanks Rick, will do. Talking to some buddies tonight and they got me considering a '13 gas silverado. Thinking I can get into one for around the mid 20's---I guess they are giving mad incentives right now and those are pretty good on gas. Decisions, decisions.....lol
