I wonder if this means TDI owners with respiratory ailments (like asthma) will bring a lawsuit?

Besides deceptive, I wonder if this could also be considered consumer fraud?
(I wonder a lot ).

What owner is actually going to bring their car in for the resulting buy back or recall that comes from this? What's their incentive to do so? You want me to bring my car in so you can re-calibrate it to make it get worse MPG and HP? No thanks! You want me to bring my car in to put a tank in the trunk that I'm going to have to fill with DEF? No thanks again! Even if you had to get whatever fix they came up with in order to be paid out from a class action lawsuit, the amount of money any member of the class ever gets is peanuts compared to the long term extra fuel costs or cost of DEF.

VW is going to get hammered by fines, cost to implement a recall, and the class action lawsuit amount. But really, no one died. Well, not as a direct result of VWs actions anyway. This isn't a Pinto. If Ford could survive things like that VW will certainly make it through this. Make no mistake, people at VW WILL get canned for sure. But the company isn't going to stop selling cars or pull out of any markets.

I hope I can get a good deal on one after this! My wife drives 120+ a day so I've had my eye on the TDI's for some time.

The EPA isn't allowing VW to sell them. There's no way that anyone is going to be able to buy a new one until they do whatever is required to "fix" the cars.

"The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is working closely with the California Air Resources Board, which spent years pressing Volkswagen to explain why its diesel engines ran dirtier in actual driving than during smog tests."

oh really?...

Was thinking used after folks are angered by the VW "deception".

the EPA wont allow the cars to leave the ports so VW is paying storage on cars sitting at ports this is gonna get expensive fast, My work paid 100.00 per day storage on a 48x48 pallet while we waited for customs clearance

Sooooooooo do you all think that the EPA will mandate an EPA representative at emission testing facilities at all times now? Kind of like the USDA inspectors?
