So tired of having a Cable bill!!!

I am so tired of having a cable tv bill. I am paying $130. a month for Comcast with HD, 6meg Internet, and a phone service. I barely watch TV, do most my Internet on my iPhone, and barely use my phone service. Anyone go to free Tv? How many channels do you get with an a digital receiver? Any suggestions?

Cancel it, I did a few years ago. I spend $45 on DSL for 6mb internet but I don't have any other choice.

I get NBC, CBS, ABC, Mynetwork, CW, 4 PBS channels, 2 church channels, some livesmart channel and Fox. Better shit to do than watch TV anyway.

Cancel it and only keep your internet. You can watch most of your TV shows on the internet now so you don't really need TV unless you gotta see it now. I know my phone (Droid) has wifi capability with this new software upgrade. I gotta test it out. If it seems fast enough I may even cancel my cable/internet and use my phone for my home laptop.

If your droid is rooted it's free. if not you must pay verizon for tethering.

comcast fucks you if you drop cable and only keep internet. I dropped my service to their $29 plan and kept the $49 internet and I havent missed anything. The only channels that are gone I never watched anyway

Im paying AT&T $90 a month for my cell phone and for Uverse 12Mb down/3Mb up internet. Thats all I need. I download all of my favorite shows.

I have WOW and I called and bitched when my bill was upto 118 for just internet and cable. Comcast and WOW were having a war on pricing and I told them they knocked on my door and offered cable/internet for 59.99 and they dropped it to that. My Dad did the same thing with WOW and he got all 3 for 79.99 from like 130. It's great. 12 month lock in........call on the 11th month and get another year locked in.

Comcast was dropping their prices too. This was about 3 months ago, but I bet nothing has changed...they want your business.

Maybe where you live you'd get some channels with a digital reciever, but out in the boonies where we live, not so much. Used to get CBS & Fox which where all right for how much time I have to watch TV (plus PBS and some stupid religious channels) - but for some reason they just quit coming in, and no attenna or amount of adjusting has brough them back. We're getting disk network real soon. Internet service - ha, not out here. Our cell phone barely get reception.

Do you have an aerial? My grandma lives in Pinconning and has an aerial about 20 feet off the ground. She gets 12 channels.
