I plan on putting in a year or two with the company I am with now, making some headwaves, writing some good numbers, and then having the company pay for my move to Florida...hopefully to the Ft. Myers/Naples area. I want out of this state.

We'll see.

We're hoping that my in-laws finally make the move with us. They too want to head out that way.

As far as my side goes, I am not longer talking to my side of the family. The last time this happened I went almost 2 years without hearing or seeing my parents, brother, and adopted sister. This time around will likely be a lot longer after the falling out we had. Oh well, that's life. But yes, I will miss my friends...even though I don't get to see them now as often as I would like.

My doesn't want to, but I want to move to around Sarasota. I have some options on my plate right now. I'd love to live where it's warm all year long. :badass:
Guess we'll see what happens. But, if I'm with Al, if you had the resources, do it. Who's to say, when/if the economy picks back up around here, that you couldn't move back in a couple of years. I mean, it's not like it has to be permanant or anything:dunno:

We're planning a move to the Tampa/St. Pete area.
Al, we were just down in Ft. Myers last weekend. Nice area, but kind of sprawled out. :dontknow:

If I was single, I'd be out west 2 years ago. Fuck Florida, it's too humid. Give me Southern California, Vegas, or Arizonia any day. I see myself there in the future, well at least a timeshare.

I too would prefer to move out West where it's dry, but majority rules. Either coast is better than MI!!!!

I second that, for any of you Michganders who are too scurrrrrrrrrrred to change location.

THERE ARE MANY MANY MANY OTHER PLACES TO LIVE BESIDES MICHIGAN, and NO you don't need the fucking four seasons or the great lakes to be happy.

I haven't even seen my snowmobile in 5 years. Fuck the winters of MI.

I have given it some thought, but I am still doing great here in Michigan. I would have a severe issue with taking my Daughter (and new child) away from my and wifes family. I love my family and talk/see every day so I dont know???? Until I really feel the need to look for new work I am staying here!!!

I'm so tired of hearing about the leaves changing colors and going sledding.. Give me vegas - 100 F in the sun, and a comfortable 80 F in the shade. Then give me a 2 hour flight to Tahoe and do some real boarding in the mountains.

I'd don't care about going up north any more!!!

I would recommend spending a few weeks in FL in July or August before moving down. It's pretty easy to fall in love with FL when you go in February or March, but try dealing with that weather in the summer.

You are a prisoner in your own home. A slave to air conditioning. And let's not forget poisonous snakes, extremely high property costs (and housing insurance), etc.

What type of business are you in? I think people in general have really been talking down the Michigan economy. There are great opportunities and fortunes to be made right here..

x2

Insurance rates a lone are high compared to MI... Not to mention when Hurricane season hits...

Yeah, southern California is sweet. Tahachapee "sp" isn't bad either, little east of Bakersfield. Though it would seriously suck to hit an elk on the road.

A little drastic isn't it? Moving to Florida to avoid racing me!?

We just start talking about a race yesterday and today you're practically on the first plane out of here. Don't move to Florida to avoid it, I'll tell people you won.

j/k... good luck with whatever you guys decide, I hope it works out for you.
