cjmatt's comment about selling all the parts to someone else is a great idea! Give someone else that headache, take the money and put it into the Camaro.

You and I are a lot alike. We know it'd be sweet, you know it'd be a one-of, you know we have the resources and space, but we just don't need the hassle right now.

that would be a really really cool car. I could sell the engine/trans for good $$$, it already has an intercooler since it is a turbo diesel, and i got the drivetrain. Now the only thing is how much someone would charge to do it...cause I would have zero desire to actually do the work.

How does a 98 vette ls1 compare to a 02ish lq4 out of a truck? Is one better than the other for boost?

a low 10 mercedes eclass daily driver would be a fun ass DD I think

awesome idea darko, but ill bet you 100 if you start it, youll never finish. then youll have 2 non running cars. I think your Camaro would make a fun ass DD as well
 
Ok Darko,

I say part it out for everything good. (let me know I will seriously think about buying that motor).
Take the money and have Stenod finish your Camaro.

Drive the Mercedes for another couple of months you know it will last a bit longer.
Then find what you want to do with it , and start aquiring what you need.

buying a E320 would be much cheaper than a 300D, just an FYI.
he already owns a 300D, and it runs like crap and has 200k miles, but the body is clean. its a perfect swap candidate, but for what he wants to do, nothing from the vette would do him any good. hes better off doing a 6.0 4l80 truck swap
 
i can probably get close to 3k for the engine/trans/turbo and other stock misc bs. I gotta run some numbers to see how much i would have into it. I would have a shop drop most likely an lq4 since it would be boosted with a 4l80, and have them fab a turbo kit while they're at it. Say you get 700rwhp out of a e class mercedes thats your DD, that would be insannneeee!!! It would probably need some type of rear end conversion though...i can't see that stock diff lasting at all.

well to make 700rwhp, youre gonna need more than a stock 6.0... A stock 6.0 is good for about 600rwhp max
