After selling my business almost 10 years ago, I picked up a cushy corporate job and right before the bottom fell out of Michigan I decided to take a transfer to the land of opportunity (so I thought) called South Florida. I lasted there 6 years, built a pretty nice side business of detailing exotic cars and after about 2 years down there my wife became so homesick that she set her sights on moving back to Metro Detroit. She has 11 brothers/sisters and about 30 neices/nephews and thought that there is no better place to raise a family then back in our good ole Metro Detroit. Been back since late last year, moved to Grosse Pointe Park and I can honestly say there's no place like home!!! So many people have questioned my intensions on coming back, but honestly, this place (despite the enonomy & the potholes) is incredible. Great people, great food and lots of great places to visit. S. Florida is filled with transients and there is a huge middle class void. Michigan fills that void completely! I still take business trips every 4-6 weeks down there to take care of the $20 Million worth of cars I maintain/preserve, but may consider branching this business out back to MI. I do miss seeing Ferraris, Bentleys, Lambos, Astons and Rolls every day, but oh well. Like they say....Happy Wife, Happy Life! Good to be back!!
