smog pump removal 95 gt mustang

OK guy I need some questions answered. I want to remove the smog from my 95 gt mustang. The car is in the shop getting the EGR fixed on it. I just bought an x pipe and flowmasters for the car but heres the problem. The smog tube on the xpipe is welded shut so I am just gunn scrap the whole smog pump.

Should I just remove the thing? Anything i need to plug? Can I just run a new belt or do I need a new pulley in the place of the old pump? Can I just plug up the other end of the smog tube and leave the pump there?
 
Leave the pump there to spin and just weld up the hole on the X pipe. You don't need that shit, it'll still run without it.
 
not sure on the sn95's but the fox you can just remove the pump and get a shorter belt and just reroute it without the pump on there.
 
two bolts and the pump is out just took mine off the other day but im runnin into problems finding the right size belt with no a/c and smog but i have a vortech on my car so it might be diff. for you.
