Smart phone and Carrier Question

If the carrier currently is Verizon and still under the old grandfathered data plan, how does one slip into a new smart phone without losing the grandfathered data plan?

Can the customer go on to Ebay, purchase a Verizon specific smart phone through the third party seller, and update the verizon profile after loading the sim card into the new phone?

Likely going from SIII to SVII

That's what I've always thought since 2014/2015 when the regulators stepped in on the phone services and there squeezing tactics.

Thanks for the response.

Have you looked into the new Unlimited plans? I held on to my grandfathered plan for years by buying phones from Swappa. Once the new plans came out, I looked into them and found that it was actually cheaper. I had employer discounts as well as other discounts on the plan ($9.99 data) and the new one was still cheaper. At this point there really isn't a reason to hold on to the old plan.

Leave plan get new verizon unlimited plan. Save money. I had 4 unlimited grandfathered data plans for the last 5 years. About 480 a month. Cut bill in half . you get 22 gb of data and 10 gb of tethering per line. totally worth it. There is very few cheap phones but you can finance any phone for free for 2 years. Like $30 a month for an s8plus.

forgot about the sim fitment. Any local place to pick up a SIM card cutter tool? or a local cellular store that is good at doing the trimming?

Where are you located? I'm pretty sure I have one, just have to dig for it. If not, the independent cell phone stores will do it cheap or even free.

I'll be in the northern warren area tomorrow, but I'll gladly meet where ever that best fits your schedule. Do you know if Best Buy or micro center sells them?
