slot car track in LP

i kno i saw a thread for people into slot car racing was tryin to see if anyone saw a track was opening up in lincoln park on dix called downriver speedway? drove by yesterday but they werent open yet.Should be something to do though with winter comin.
 
It's funny you brought this up. I was just thinking the other day that this might be a good business to get into. It looks like there are currently only two tracks in the area (Sterling Heights and Belleville). I used to do this all the time when I was a kid and had a blast racing the 1/24 scale cars. I think I still have my old cars in the basement 25 years later! :lol: I went to Joy 500 in Livonia. It closed down a long time ago. I never understood why it didn't succeed. From what I remember, it was always packed. I think they moved to an expensive place in Canton and tried to expand to include a hobby shop and they even sold ice cream cones. :confused: They didn't last very long after they moved.

there is no track in sterling hieghts, there is one in westland and one in belleville


this downriver track gonna have a dragstrip or anyone know?
 
on the card the guy gave me it says 1/24th scale 1/4 mile drag strip and a 8 lane high bank daytona tri-oval. and there gonna have racing nightly. good to see some businesses filling those vacant buildings a lot of empty ones down there now.
 
ic, well if they have a drag strip, ill most likely will have to go check it out, any word when they open?

Hey Danny, I went and checked it out today. The dragstrip is a brand new formica track, freestanding. Talked to the guy for a little while, I think his only downfall is gonna be no racing for money, bragging rights only.

well i was going to ask if anyone was racing this year... i got mine built and never went last year...anyone want to setup a steady night to go??? i would prefer sunday
