anyone ever done a clutch on a 88 civic? how hard is it? just got the car and now the clutch is slipping kinda bad. it's driveable, but not for long i'd guess, maybe a week or 2 tops. anyone wanta R&R it for me? prices?

might use that as a last resort. wonder how long it'll take sean to see this and feel sorry me and hook me up with a super discount price.... :)

It's not as hard as you would think, I know my brother did his 97 del sol (civic) and it didn't take him too long.

Sean is a Honda expert - give him a ring. He had smoe special made Spec clutches he was using for a while.

Drop off thursday picup friday.

sweet, off the top of your head, whats a clutch for one of them cost? also, are you open on saturdays? could i drop it off friday and pick up on sat?

Dude it takes about and hour and half to do one in those..

When you take the trans out.. Drill a 1\2 inch hole in the bottom of the bell housing about a inch back from the face of the bellhousing.

Those things have a problem with water building up in the bell housings and killing clutches

I'd be in but my car currently looks like this..

Bill, my friend, you should have just bought mine:icon_mrgr I just drove it to Allen Park and back today...

Dan

yeah i know, but this one is cleaner, and even with the alt, and clutch, and soon to be brakes, it was still cheaper :) BUT as long as plans dont go drasticly wrong tomarrow, i'll have a drivers lic, and with in 2 weeks, a really strong running car, and then if it isnt snowing, we race. you of all people should feel my pain about a slipping clutch lol
