Here's my currently unassembled junk, buried in the garage.

Welcome eh!
Got a question Mr. Diesel tech...
I need to put a kill switch in my Kenworth (450hp Cat motor)...I need the motor to crank over but not run.
Any idea's on how to do this?

you should of waited for the new diesel coming out.....eff that navistar junk. Nice truck though

Meh. I'm really unsure of how reliable this Scorpion motor is going to be. The 6.4's have been great for the most part. I have had 0 problems with mine so far.

We'll need to interrupt the power going to the shutoff solenoid/fuel enable solenoid on the injection pump. What year is the truck?

Welcome! After seeing your avatar, I know your a good guy:thumbsup:

Bob Falfa: Hey man, I'm sorry if I scared ya!
John Milner: You're gonna hafta do one hell of a lot more than that to scare me!
Bob Falfa: Hey I've been lookin' all over for ya man. Didn't nobody tell ya I was lookin' for ya?
John Milner: Man, I can't keep track of all you punks runnin' 'round here backwards.
Bob Falfa: Hey you're s'posed to be the fastest thing in the Valley man, but that can't be your car. It must be your mama's car! I'm sorta' embarrassed to be this close to ya!
John Milner: Yeah, well I'm not surprised, drivin' a field car!
Bob Falfa: Field car? What's a field car?
John Milner: A field car runs through the fields, droppin' cow shit all over the place to make the lettuce grow.
Bob Falfa: Ha ha! That's pretty good! Say, I like the color of your car there, man. What's that s'posed to be? Sort of a cross between piss yella' and puke green ain't it?
John Milner: Well, you call that a paint job, but it's pretty ugly. I bet you got to sneak up on the pumps just to get a little air in your tires!
Bob Falfa: Well at least I don't have to pull over to the side just to let a funeral go by man.
John Milner: Oh ho, funny!

welcome, hoping to get a 7.3 at some point in the near future :D

I'd get a 6.0, personally. Helluva lot more power, and when they're maintained right and used right, they kick some serious ass.

which years of the 6.0 would you recommend?

Early 04 engines had the round style EGR cooler that seldom or never failed. In all the 6.0 coolers I've changed, I have never changed a round style cooler, even with a plugged oil cooler.

They utilize a different branch tube without a "Snap To Connect" fitting that will blow apart at a very inopportune time.

As I said ebfore though, if you maintain it, and kick the ass off of it you'll likely end up with a decent truck. Religiously do the maintenance, and make the truck work (towing, etc).

Get one with warranty left on it (good till 100k miles) and we can make sure it gets the proper parts updated on it and you'll be good to go. Have a customer with over 1,000,000 kilometers on his 03 6.0 - never had an injector, never had a turbo, never had an EGR valve.

It's also never been unhooked off the trailer :D

2007 KW
The deal is, I want to flip a toggle switch and when I turn the key the motor cranks but doesn't start...Flip the switch again, turn the key and she starts up.
Thanks!
