Silver Nissan GTR on 96/696 Sunday

On Sunday I was driving back from Grand Rapids after a bach party and was half asleep, actually going the legal limit until a nice light silver GTR zipped by. I could see he was a real good driver, not cutting people off despite ripping by and finding the gaps, so I decided to chase him a bit. Turned out to be a shit ton of fun zipping down 96/696 with him. While there wasn't any racing going on, the 4 lane sweepers at a good click with the valentine 1 on full blast was about the most fun I've had in a long time. We made it from Brighton to Woodward/696 in like 20 minutes or something stupid. When we slowed down to 70 right at the end to bail onto woodward, it felt like were doing 10.

Anyway, if anyone knows the guy with that car (had some cobb tuning stickers as well I think) tell him he made my Sunday, that was fun shit. :thumbsup: I was in the yellow Z06 next to him.
 
Yea, I know the plate but I'm not going to post it. Not a huge deal if nobody knows him. FADI wasn't you (besides you telling me) since you are dark silver or gray as far as I know/think?? and this was as silver as it gets. First one I've seen that color, wore it well.

Right. Mine is Dark Gray vs. the light Silver that you saw. If it is the color I am thinking of that you saw, it is called Super Silver. It is a BAD ASS color, especially at night!

Yep, thats pretty much it with cobb stickers and some track numbers shoe polished on the b pillar windows. Car looks good in most colors, best in gray and silver though in my opinion.

You can tell the 2012s from the older model years by the wheels (10 spokes) and the LEDs up front. The 2012 are significantly faster than the 09-11s. The typically run 11.2s @ 125 bone stock.
 
Hard to tell at 150mph around an Scurve on 696 though! :)

Yes, the '12s do run much better. From what I've seen at the track, the older ones were 11.7-8ish cars and the '12s are always 11.2x where I've been. At TX2K11 this year there were several running very consistently. The cars sound great too, kind of a modded S4 wail.

BTW, I saw your car parked on WW about 3 weeks ago or so and I sat by it for about 15 mins hoping you would come by to introduce myself, but I never saw you. Maybe next time. Your car is very nice..=)
