silver lake like a rock

Im talking about what you could do with your left over money after buying the Chevy compared to the purchase price of the Raptor. Of course your going to be capable of jumping a truck and landing it alot smoother when you lift it a few inches and put almost $3000 worth of shocks on it!

P.S. Thanks for the little clutch pedal tidbit the other day Jay, Problem ended up being I got sold the wrong pressure plate tho.

Trunk whats the base price on a 6.2L Raptor? Also does anyone know how much a decently loaded silverado cost? You can put $3000 worth of shocks on a pile of shit and guess what.. You now have a pile of shit with $3000 shocks on it :)

A 4 door 4x4 LS silverado starts around $30,000, according to the Gm website. Raptor starts at $42,000 with the 6.2 according to the ford website with out the super :specool: stickers.

I bet you could build a pretty BAMF silverado for $42k.

No to above

Funny hearing people rip on a badass truck

I could build a badass mustang for cheaper than a zr1 or z06

Key words in "bold".

Option that pig bitch out THEN outfit it with the suspension upgrades. I bet the prices will be A LOT closer than you would think :)

Not ripping on the truck at all. I love raptors would buy one if I could afford it no doubt. But trying to compare the abilities of a truck with one that was literally designed to be "jumped" in the sand to one that ultimatly was designed to be exactly what it is, a light duty truck. How do you figure a normal fx4 F150 would hold up to being jumped just like the z71?

And the for the last part of your statement, this would be the same thing as watching a road race video of a stock mustang and than saying, I bet a corvette would of went around that track alot faster.... Of course its going to. Thats what it is built for lol

Agreed. You just can't compare the two.

Granted, GM doesn't build anything that is built for off roading for like the Raptor. And if I had the cash and wanted to buy something to off road it would be a Raptor, like you said. Not knocking them at all. They are badass trucks, no one is "ripping" it.

You just can't compare a truck that's 30k to a 42k truck specifically built for doing dumb shit.

Actually, they start at 21k. Super base WT model. The truck in that video (from best I can guesstimate) is probably around 30k. And that's what Jay compared to a raptor.

I did it in my old truck a Fx4 have video of it at home atleast 6 feet in the air.. The truck handled everything i did to it fine.. get this the doors still worked correctly after i jumped it ;)

Vid or it didnt happen. It's not that I don't belive you but you keep that truck in way too good of shape to be jumping it 6ft in the air. Did you carry it 6ft in the air for 75 ft at 60+ mph like in said video? THat may or may not of been the key factor in the destruction of that truck lol

1st. Robbie Gordan wouldn't jump a truck like the guy in the first video. 2nd. I didn't lawn dart my truck into the ground ass seen in the first video 3rd. the point of all my posts in this thread are because i personally think gm trucks are shit (no offense) not as shitty as a Nissan but shitty ;) I simply started into this thread stating that "a blue raptor did the same thing but didn't fold in half" then it turned into this pissing competition.. Of all the people posting in this thread i wonder how man have been to silver lake in a truck? Or understand what the difference between a fully boxed frame and a solid ladder frame featuring hydro-formed construction<<<gay!.. Let alone a 8.5" ring gear vs a 9.75" ring gear, etc.......

i get what your saying..and agree with it for the most part...basicly u cant compair a factory spec built vehicle VS what can i build in my garage for the same money!!.. i DONT like ford..But i like the idea around the raptor..i just wish chevy would get in to the market with them..and would love to see a GM 6.2 in a truck like that.

i cant totaly knock ford at silverlake..i had an f150 with some bfgs ..and i could pretty much go anywhere i wanted in 2wd..which i was impressed with..but i think alot of that is the damn 5.4 doesnt make anuf power to get you in any trouble in the sand so u basicly just float around.

il have a better comp this summer i finaly no long have the ford as a company truck and now finaly have a GMC again..so il pull the long travel sand rail up there and probly break it and take the gmc out and see how it does compaired to the ford..

i guess what i was tryin to get across and got off topic..is i was pretty sure the RAPTOR WAS BENT ? i thought there was some pics floating around of it back in the lot with a bent frame too...hmm

Wow Jay, Heat gettin to ya a little bit? I didn't really think any of this was all that serious, Been to Silver Lake, Not in a truck but watched lots of stupid things happen in trucks tho. I did see a geo tracker send her off a dune pretty similiar to what the chevy did in the video and drive way to do it again if that is worth anything :dontknow: There is no denying that Raptors are badass trucks, The guy in the Chevy is an idiot and jumping a truck like that at all takes some balls. Personally I am suprised the Chevy held up as well as it did for a jump like that. Stock suspension with all of what 6-8" of travel is not going to absorb very much landing impact, Not to mention he was doomed from the get by no coming off the top of the dune square.

No, the heat isn't getting to me lol jsxtreme has been sending me harrassing / vulgar texts i was simply trying to give him a hard time... I really don't care either way as long as it's an american brand truck.. I <3 ford/gm/dodge trucks of all makes and models.. but justin, you're a dick! Also, I don't care if you're driving "big foot" if you jump a truck like the guy in the first vid, shits gonna hit the fan... literally..
