I finished it on Sunday with my CTS-V. Had a great time. I learned the car has a little too much power for the stock 132k mile clutch. I smoked the clutch day 0 testing at Milan but was able to "nurse it back to health" and made at least 2 passes at each track.

On the way to Northern Michigan Dragway hotel we made a turn in the middle of nowhere Michigan and all the sudden there was a misfire, dead hole. Plugged in the HP tuners and had a misfire code on cylinder #3. When we reached our hotel we had a plug wire sitting on the header. I had brought coils. wires and plugs on the trip. Easy fix.

Now I am changing the build on my 89 Mustang to a drag and drive car and plan on doing a few of them a year.

Sick Miles was taking place in Florida when I was there earlier this year, one of the stops was around the corner from my hotel. Quite a few cars had removed their doors off because of the heat. A good variety of vehicles, sports cars, muscle cars, pickups, a little of everything.

I saw so many cars that looked just miserable to drive. It has changed the way we looked at building the drag and drive car.

It will have A/C. They make electric compressors. It will have a radio. The little weight it adds is definitely worth the comfort on a 200 mile drive.

Makes sense. August was brutal this year between the heat and humidity. Has to be a pretty unpleasant time in a race car logging miles.

I put a blue tooth amp in the last car and I'm going to do it in the next one too. Makes a world of difference. They're super simple to install and hide, and then your phone is basically your head unit.

Odd question-would an AC unit from a Chevy Bolt work?
Those EVs run off pretty high voltage. Probably 400 volts ish. So you would need some kind of massive power inverter. I am not sure what voltage the aftermarket kits run it, but they usually come with a step up power supply. Those suck a lot of amps at 12 volts to get up to to the high voltage.
