Seriously... whats wrong with people??

thats the problem, people have no problem bitching about something but a huge problem stopping the problem. if i saw someeone stealing something, be it stupid ass flowers from my neighbors house, and the POS rode up on a bike, you think my 255lbs ass would be afraid to go out and confront some green thumb thief? not a chance, i'd have scared the shit out of him and taken his bike and thrown it into traffic to be run over by a bus.

The only problem with this is the person you confront might be a coward who later comes back to harass your family or mess with your stuff as retaliation. Calling the police seems the better bet if you live right where it happened...

agreed but what do u do when the cops never come?

I'm gonna post some pictures of some customers homes I have done when I get home. These homes are previously bank owned homes in Northville near 6 mile and Beck. You would not believe what the previous owners, or someone... took out of these houses. In addition to all the built in appliances they took things like toilets, light fixtures, plumbing from the basement, wall plates, doorknobs, knobs in the kitchen, etc. and destroyed other things in the process purely out of spite. Big holes in drywall, paint poured out on tile floors, hardwood scratched all to hell... its sickening.

IMO, malicious damage to a house should be a crime and should be prosecuted, the bank owns that house, you don't and until it's fully paid off causing damage should be a crime

I wasnt about to approach the black guy with the dodge ram... the guy looked gangster as shit and I didnt feel like being stabbed/shot... I did what i felt I had to do there, called my neighbor (who calls the police/city about everything) and leave it in her hands if she felt the police needed to be called...

My guess on what happened there is the guy was probibly part of the crew that came to clean the house initially and later went back after he knew everyone was gone. Brought his tramp with him to keep an eye on the front while he carried shit out the back.

sorry I wasnt about to walk out of my house and risk enflicting some drama on myself over a house that isnt even owned by someone. Now if my neighbor was still living there it would be a totally different story.

The old guy stealing plants I was more dumb founded with then anything. I was in the middle of a nice dinner with my family on Mothers day and didnt feel like getting into an argument with him over a fucking plant. If i see him riding around anymore though ill be sure to spray him with the hose though lol.

But enough is enough, I talked to all my surrounding neighbors today and we all agree that if we see anything out of the ordinary that the cops will be called.

I didnt expect to be taking some heat for this though I must say

That's what you should have done in the first place. Tell the dispatcher that you want to remain anonymous when the police show up for fear of retaliation. It's our duties as citizens to get involved or else our neighborhoods will all wither away.

Speaking of that.. i was at a do it yourself quarter car wash last week on 14 mile by Van Dyke. When i pulled up i noticed a homeless looking guy bent down behind the vacuums working on the coin locks. I called the cops and 4 cars came out. Come to find out there were numerous radios in the bushes taken from the local RV storage place that they connected this guy to. He went off to jail. I did my part and it wasn't even in my neighborhood.

As long as people turn a blind eye to crime it's going to keep happening. It's up to us to get involved and get the douchebags off the streets.

+1

ill admit I shoulda called the cops on the first guy. Buuut I wasnt sure how things worked with the whole foreclosed home situation. I didnt know at that point in time people looting them is as big of a problem as it is.

Like I said I live in a nice neighborhood and seeing a house go to foreclosure was bad enough yet come to find out it had been gutted. Im not use to having to keep an eye out for suspicious behavior as we have had zero problems since moving here.

But I guess things change, and in desperate times people apparently just wanna make things worse, and robbed the neighbor rather then put any effort into doing something about it.

If you don't keep the trash out it'll be your shit they're taking next. :spank:

yup... like i said I was just taken back by seeing this shit happening. Sad really but its happening everywhere.

Just gotta handle it I guess. I never seen myself in this role, but im not about to see my neighborhood turned to shit

thief's are cowards enough, it would take a thief with balls to come back and fuck with you because you told him to stop stealing flowers or what ever. the chances are small, but for some people not worth the risk, i personally cant stand thiefs and would whoop the shit out of em on sight.

this brings us back to the original problem. the OP is no better then the thief, because In all acutallity, he helped the thief steal cause he himself was to lazy to pick up the phone and call the police. there's different breeds of people, some run, some fight, and other's are cowards their entire lifes. he didnt even pick up the phone to call the people who sit in cars with bullet proof vests and get to carry guns who wait with huge ego tripps to NAIL "perps". as usual with society, people stand around and watch....

you made your point. The poor guy made a simple post...acknowledged he should have done it differently and you keep talking shit.

im in no ways a coward, im just not a confrontational person. If someone gets in my face im not afraid to throw down but I dont go looking for fights.

I didnt help a thief do shit, I didnt know for sure thats what was going on initially. The second time... it was a fucking plant. Prolly cost $5 at home depot. Yea it pissed me off, but i wasnt about to jump up from my family meal and get my Mom all upset because im outside yelling at some old fuck for digging a stupid plant. Different time and place, ya I woulda done something but I wasnt about to let the old shit ruin my night or my families.

But if you wanna hate on me for doing nothing go ahead. I admitted I shoulda called the first time but following the advice of my parents and my neighbor I let it go. Shit happens but it wont happen again.

how am i talking shit? i simply stated that some people do nothing, and others call the police, and other go out and kick ass. it angers me that if nothing else he didnt call the police. if i came across as offensive sorry, but its the least he could have done.

the way you talk you'd need balls to be able to go out side and play with a bat....

what ever you say.... post about what the fuck is wrong with people, you see a crime, bitch about it, then dont even call the police. am i missing something? whats the point of the post? for example we had hundreds of dollars stolen from the building/shop i work at, what do we do, put up cameras to catch the faces/licence plates, so we can turn the info over to the police, not just look out the window and twittle our thumbs hoping it dont happen again. but what ever, you did what you did and there's no arguing with you. i give up.
