Selling my wife's car rant..... long read.

So I have had my wife's van up for sale for a while now, And I have just the typical low ballers, hecklers and people with too much time and no money. The random person that wants to trade his really nice truck with 2xx,XXX miles on it etc...

How ever I did have a local couple come drive it and I helped them with stuff at where I work with no issues and they are a nice couple. He is over 6' tall and pushing 400lbs, he was in the passenger seat on the return drive of them being gone for about 30 minutes. Before they left I showed them the stow n go seating and how it works.

They pull in the driveway and knock on the door and ask if I can help them with something. I go out and his wife is playing with the passenger seat and informs me she can't get to move and they are trying to get the rear captains chair out of the floor. No biggie I have found one of my kids toys stuck under the seat and I figure it happened again. I look under the seat and nothing, I hit the button to power it forward and it twists on the frame. One of the seat tracks is bowed in the center and it is clear it couldn't hold his weight. I told them I can look at it over the weekend and see what needs to be fixed and they say no problem but we are still interested in the van.

Weekend comes and goes, I left them a message that it needs a new seat track and appears to be crushed but we can come down on price for what it costs for a new track. Well they don't call me but send me a message over Facebook saying they will take it for that price if I fix the seat otherwise they will keep looking. Seriously?>™?! You break something that isn't yours and tell me I am out of luck, WTF! Now I have seat stuck in the floor I can't use and you tell me no thanks.

The best part is that I haven't seen them in my branch since so it is obvious it was their bust.....

Cash in hand before test drive. This is usual for motorcycles....and 400lb people climbing in or on your stuff!

Goodluck, hope they come to their senses.

Lol some peoples kids. Try selling a high performance boat, you can weed out the tire kickers real quick when you tell them a test drive requires a deposit that can be put toward the price. No I'm going to give tours of the lake for you to tell me I'll call you back.

I never, ever allow a test drive of my vehicles without
being present (ride along). As a matter of fact, when
showing a vehicle, I never, ever let the vehicle out
of my sight.

I have never had a problem, go figure.

I've only tried selling one vehicle, 2006 Magnum, and I wouldn't even let the other guy drive because I could just tell he was going to be a tirekicker.

I know them and know where they live. They have their own small business and it is not a big town by any means but I guess karma will be waiting for them.
