Seger on Leno

Lot's of people are great musicians. Good for them. But they are still just normal people like the rest of us. So why the special attention?

The same goes for athletes, actors, race car drivers, billionaires, famous people, etc. They are all mortals, so who cares?

Making a thread saying that he gave a good interview or made a cool appearence is one thing. To idolize the guy is a whole other.

The only one making a big deal about it is you. Everyone is just appreciating the fact that a good musician that once was thought to be gone from the scene is making a comeback. And for once its not some one hit wonder, stupid boy band, drama filled teeny bopper, or ghetto thug rapper.

When the fuck did I give a shit about about some one hit wonder, stupid boy band, drama filled teeny bopper, or ghetto thug rapper? I may like a song or two from the occasional "flash in the pants" musician but do I make threads saying how great that person is or how I cannot wait to see them in concert...or worse yet, see them on tv?!?!? Ummm, nope.

Sooooooo, basically no one can explain being star struck. I didn't think so. My work here is done. Carry on.

who said anything about you? I'm making a point that the spotlight [in the media] for once isn't on the same ol' crap.

you did no work and haven't proven anything. I'm not sure where you're getting this star struck thing from? Saying that you like a certain artist, happy that they are back, and would like to see them in concert is hardly being star struck. Now the people that gather outside of the courthouse to support MJ, now those people are starstruck and need some help.

Ahh, I see. I agree on that point.

There's nothing that really needs to be proven. We're all just throwing out opinions here. Don't lie, Johnny, you have all of the TV coverage of MJ's court cases on tape, along with your, "FREE MICHAEL," T-Shirt. I saw them in your truck when you drove me to Milan.

I don't think anyone is star struck. I don't even like Bob Seger but I can appreciate that when something people like is both good and rare, people are anxious to take advantage when it reappears. Whether that's a musician, car, favorite candy, hair gel, whatever...What you're saying is tantamount to saying never be excited about anything.

:secret:

Al can kiss my ass. I'm excited and my pants are getting tight. Seger is the shit. My pops used to see him when he played in Ann Arbor all the time back in the 60's and 70's and I grew up hearing the stories about him. Now I can finally see him perform and that's exciting to me.

In Al terms...imagine clairol brought back the hair gel your dad used...

Very excited to see it. Seger is one of my all time favorites.

As a few of you know, Seger and my dad go way back. They used to live together as a couple of broke 20-somethings in Ann Arbor.

I've got some old pictures laying around of 4th of July BBQs and stuff like that, hanging out with Seger and not knowing how cool it was because I was only about 13 years old. Who else gets rides from Seger in his brand new Porsche 911 :D

It was great to see him at the Kid Rock show, and it will be even better to see him doing his own show.

Here's a couple of sneaky cellphone pics I took from the Kid Rock concert
