See...no big deal...

Nice Car Al. Does not seem to be you though!

I just rode in a new Grand Prix literally 45 min ago(not a GXP). My spikey hair was hitting the roof and had to tilt my head. Good thing you are a short fugger! :icon_mrgr

Your gas mileage is around what a GTP gets out of the factory...18/28. Is Premium gas required or could you use the cheap stuff?

Yeah, I read the reason and I can't see it making that much difference in cornering ability. I'm likely widening the rear wheels 1" and adding tires that match the front sizes after winter.

Will it still clear everything if you do this? Couldn't you just find another set of stock front wheels, or is the offset/backspacing different? FWIW I think it's around $150/wheel to have Weldcraft widen them, but I wouldn't go anywhere else. They narrowed a pair of stock C3 Corvette wheels for my Dad and the work is beautiful.

Dont open up the exhaust... when DoD kicks in it will DRONE like a bitch. There is only one exhaust out for that car that I've ever seen and its a Magnajunk, I had it on my 07 GXP and its "ok" but far from muscle car...

u can get a Borla and it sounds amazing on them. oh and I forgot to tell you, you just bought a pontiac put the dealer on speed dial lol

Also, who's got the best price on wheel widening?

GM had the bright idea to put a 18"x8" wheel and 255 tire up front, and a 18"x7" and 225 tire out back. :shake: Most never notice this unless they were told in advance, but it's already driving me crazy and I need to fix this.
What for, putting wider tires out back is ricer when the back wheels only roll. the narrower tires out back get you better gas mileage

A few more quick pix...

I'm 5'11"...and I lean.

Jim Causley? About 21k miles?

If so I drove it a couple months ago. I took off a couple miles off the tires too, no abuse though. :)

edit: nm saw its 30K+ miles, not the one I drove, but looks identical

Even with the TC on this car blows the tires off. I need to fix that...

Sharp looking ride Al. I'd rock one of those if I wasn't a Ford boy.
I still bleed Ford blue, but let's face it, Ford has nothing comparable.

paddle shift and big brakes? I expect to see you at the next RC track day.

Congrats!
Yeah.

Nope, different car.

Thanks. I found myself looking for excuses to drive today. :D While it is just a 4-door grocery-getter, it's a TON more fun to drive than the Explorer was. ;)

Did you even read the posts?!?! I'm not wanting to make the rears wider than the fronts on my FWD car, I'm widening them 1" to make them just as wide as the front.
