I am looking to buy security cameras for My shop and dont know a single thing about them. I have a Guardian alarm system, therefore I thought it was a good idea to call them for a quote but the salesman did not explain things to My liking.
I dont want to waste money on a junk system.

Does anyone have knowledge or experience with security cameras? Your feedback will be greatly appreciated.

We do them at my work, Lombardo Computer Services. 248 453 5871. Tony should be there until 4 today, or monday from 10-7

Hit me up on Monday and we can talk about what you're looking to get out of the system. Don't use Guardian, they'll rape you on the price and install a bunch of shit hardware. I had a customer that had the misfortune of using them and ended up having them take the system out a few months later.

Thank for the info guys. The guy from guardian was not clear on the equipment or the function, I knew it was time to start looking around and educating myself.

I'll get you the company that just did the dealerships new system. We spent a lot, but we also have ton of cameras inside and out now. No more cars being stolen with a good picture of the theft for us!

Did your new system help catch the guy that stole your car? I'm really tired of not being able to keep stuff outside. I would like to keep our scrap steel and aluminum outside but it will get stolen. I cought a guy taking scrap one day and he acted like he was doing me a favor by taking it and couldnt understand why I was madd. We accumulate several hundred dollars worth of scrap a month and it takes up alot of space in the shop. As you know we had that trailer and car stolen and Im sure it wont be the last time. I want to prevent this from happening again...
Do you think it is a good idea to post signs indicating Video survailence? I dont want to deal with the bullshit of after the fact, I want to prevent it from happening... I want to post signs that state: Look at the f#(%$ing cameras a$$hole and get the hell out of here. But I also dont want My customers to think I'm psycho. Maybe the signs that state: Video survailence with the picture of a camera are enough, but as you know I'm a little out spoken and like for people to understand exactly what the heck I am saying.

We installed them AFTER my car was stolen, we had a dump truck stolen off the lot along with a couple plows before that. Our old system had video of each event, but wasn't good enough to focus in on plates or faces. The new system is top notch we installed a lot of them around the building and some inside. This should help deter most and at least catch the rest the rest on tape. Without certain types of recordings (time/date stamps) they can't be used in court.

The old SMILE YOU ARE ON CAMERA might help, but honestly thief's are gonna try anything. Hell we had a guy back in day jacking up cars during the day at the back of the lot and stealing wheels. He would leave them on cinder blocks. Talk about balls!

We have security cameras at work and they were useless when someone came in and stole some metel we had stored out back. Other than it was a blue Ford pickup we couldn't see anything. They were set up poorly amd shoot downward at an angle that you could see the top of someones head but not their face.
