Seafoam

For an engine, i heard it cleans it all out. i think i need it because my motor has alot of carbon build up.

GM and Chrysler "top engine cleaner" is pretty much the same thing, but in a spray can, both seem to work well on engines that are carboned up bad, but you will notice little to no effect if the engine is in good shape

Will the Gm and Chrysler stuff work on my ford motor still?

And where do i spray it at?

Spray it in the tailpipes. :thinkerg:

And/or maybe the air intake/throttle body.

They also make a treatment for "sludge" that you can add to your oil as your about to do an oil change.

I am sure Ford has something similar, but yes, it will work fine

the chrysler stuff had instructions, but you pretty much slowly spray it in the throttle body with the engine idling(you may need to open the throttle slightly to keep it running), then you quickly spray it it to kill the engine(I usually had someone ready to shut the key off when the can ran out), let it sit for 15 minutes, then fire it back up, it will likely smoke pretty good out the tail pipe, and I would recommend going for a good drive to blow it out, but it does work

Liquid stuff works well too... I've used it on my garden tractor when it would barely run, some in the tank, some in the intake, and it made a huge difference.

I used seafoam int he BMW, and it ran like a new car after. You need 2 people to do it, and a funnel usually. It will prolly throw an engine light also, since you need to dissconnect a vacuum line.

Is this stuff safe to use, and will i need to change my oil afterwards?
And do i have to have it sucked up by the vacuum hose?

Be sure to do is somewhere that's open like a deserted parking lot. I used the seafoam on my car in the driveway and it looked like my garage was on fire. I sucked it up through the vacuume line. You can also add it to your fuel in the tank.

i used it in my mustang when i had an old tired 100k plus motor in it before, it had a certain miss right around 2400 rpm, and was a bit sluggish. After a good seafoam treatment it never missed again and felt a little peppier. I used it in my 98 explorer with 200k on it and noticed little or no effect.

BTW, for uses BG induction system cleaner, they crack your throttle body about 1/4 to 1/2 way open and hook up the bottle to a hose that slowly releases the cleaner over a 10 minute period. Had it done on my girlfriends sebring and it definatly helped it.

Is 100k miles alot?
I also looked at the google video intruction video for seafoam and it said to have it sucked up by the van hose, put some in the throttle body and some in the gas tank. should i do all that?
