I have a 1968 Mustang 302 Block puched .040 just picked it up. I also have a 83 Block thats already built. What parts can I reuse per block. Like will my heads, cam, intake, oil pan, etc. fit into the 68 block?

if neither are hydraulic roller cam everything should be rechangeable but idk because the deck height might be different but i dont think so

If you havent started a build yet, MAKE SURE you go hyd. roller!!!!

the decks are the same height if there both 302 blocks. If you dont wanna drill and tap the block for roller lifters, you could use the roller lifters that are in pairs that act like a tie ter totter action. I have solid rollers in the comet and i dont use the factory spider hold down.

I think there is a difference in a couple coolant passages location on the blocks. Just compare when you can put them side by side.

Coolant passages are the same, but the old block will run a 2-piece rear main seal, while the newer block will be a 1-piece. Also, the old block may not have a provision for a dipstick, while the later block will.

Also, the later block will be a 50oz imbalance, while the older one will be 28, so be careful that the damper and flexplate/flywheel match the crank.

You'll need the expensive retro lifters to go hyd. roller. I'd just go with a later model block if you need to go hyd. roller. Those grow on trees anyhow.
