SBF radiator pressure

What is normal radiator psi for a SBF? The stock 7 psi cap has a recovery system that can draw from the overflow but when you switch to a catch can it just fills up. I switched to a 16 psi cap but then I blew out the water pump gaskets. What is the normal psi or did I just find a weak link?

TIA

It looked like a stock replacement pump, I changed it to a Edelbrock one now though.

Maybe I just found a weak link then..I'll keep the 16 on for now and see what happens.

16 is normal, and you just had bad pump/gaskets. Hel when i pressure check a system i usually go to 20 just to make sure all is right.

You can make a catch can a recovery system by putting the hose to the bottom of the can to the rad, and then run the top with a piece of hose to a place below the car. That's how i've ran my car for 6 years.
