S10 fuel pump

My dad has a 2002 Chevrolet S10 with about 88,000 miles on it. We think the fuel pump has gone bad. I am seeing five volts at the pump with the key in the "on" position. Should I see 12? The relay for the fuel pump clicks, and I switched it for another with the same model number in the fuse box. Both relays would click. I think the relay is ok. Am I correct on my diagnosis? I called a couple of places they want 322 bucks for a fuel pump, is anyone cheaper? For your information I am in Shelby Twp. Thanks.

if you are checking the grey wire at the pump , then you should see 12v, but those plugs melt, also, swap the fuse and see if the voltage changes

odds are, replace the pump module, solder in the new plug, replace the fuse(GM says to due to high draw from the failing plug), many pumps come with everything

Dad called around for a pump. He could not wait because mom won't let him drive her car. He got a pump from Advanced Auto for 280 something. We swapped the pump and the plug. We then did a couple of checks on fuel pressure with a gauge my dad had, and a few test starts. We set the bed back on the truck for now but ran out of daylight to bolt it back down. Dad will hopefully do that tomorrow.

I bought one on ebay for like $20 and it's been running ever since on my 2000 S10.
