Running like crap

'92 Mustang GT 5-speed. All stock except for cold-air intake.

Car starts right up, idles great, runs fine for 1-2 minutes driving down the road. After that, all hell breaks loose. Car spits, sputters and tries it's hardest to quit. After I stop the car, idles fine. Start driving again, runs like crap.

After a few minutes of having it off, starts right up, drives great for 1-2 minutes, then runs like crap all over again.

Anyone?

I have cleaned the mass-air meter, IAC and TPS. :banghead:

Sounds like it could be ign module....Usully those will fail after a few minnutes of run time. I would replace that first.

Hmm. For some reason I keep thinking it's the pump also. Well, if the module doesn't fix it, that's where I am going to turn my attention. Thanks

Doesn't even want to idle now. Sounds like it has a huge cam in it. Which it does not.. Even holding the throttle open slightly, there is what sounds like a miss.

Did you or do you hear the pump whining? when my fuel pump went on my 91 vert it was really loud before it finally gave out.

Go for the basics first....Pull all plugs check/replace if needed..Or if they look old. Check wires closely, check distrubuter cap and rotor. make sure there is fuel prssure, check fuel filter, if it looks old...replace it. It has to be one of those things, it doesnt sound like a major problem to me....Just a maintenance issue....hopefully.
