Royal Purple diff fluid

ON the bottle it says I DON'T need a friction modifier that it is already built into the fluid but I wanted to be sure so my question is, Has anybody ran it with a ford TRAC LOC diff or similar clutch diff? Will it hurt it if I put in the FM anyway?

Me, myself, I add it just to be sure with every gear I put in, but you don't have too...

no, it will not hurt anything. be aware, that synthetic lubes are not recommended for some positraction differentials and break in periods for ring & pinions. its ok to use with ford trac loc diff's

Brake it in with 80/90 gl5 spec valvoline gear lube. I recomend changing it at 250 miles. Also the royal purple lube is not on my list of recomended lubes. I would stick with the valvoline or any good brand of gl5 spec 80/90 wieght. If you want the rear to have more bite when the diff clutchs come on run it withouth the posi traction lube but be forwarned that it will exlerate the wear of the clutchs.
