What's a good router and modem for spectrum internet? Is a combo router/ modem any good or is it better to get separate units?

How much do you save per month with your own router? JW
My bill does not break down the internet/hardware price just shows one price.

Separate units is best practice, though many get by with an all-in-1.

The Arris SB models are usually your bet, but stay away from any models that use the Intel Puma 6 chipset. https://www.approvedmodems.com/do-not-buy-list.html

Yep, but I never saw an all-in-one work decently on a home over 1000sq ft. Separates are definitely the way to go. Plus, when you switch services, you don't have to fiddle with anything. Let the tech call in your modem and off you go.
How many square feet is your home?
2300 sq ft two story. Ended up buying the following:

Will these work all right? No gaming, just netflix, hulu, etc. Just got Directv Now and will be cancelling cable.
You should be set with those![]()
