Router and Phone Router

I've had Vonage since it began maybe 10 years ago. I still have the original Linksys phone router they sent to me and it still works fine. I would like to eliminate my Comcast box and get one with the phone links already in it.

First question I want to know if it is possible to to do this and have my original phone number work.

If it isn't possible, I still want to get another box to replace my Comcast one AND get another, more powerful phone router......

Finally, how do I hook everything up and plus how do I assign MY phone number to a new router...

Better yet, can someone come out and hook everything up for me ;)

Use the Vonage box just for Vonage nothing else, get an Asus wireless router from Amazon for your wireless and router functions, get a Arris modem to eliminate the Comcast modem rental fee. Contact Vonage and they will send you a newer version of their box if you want.

Duhhhh......I know I can go to the store and buy the routers and said as much. Not one of my questions was answered.

As I originally asked, if I buy a new Arris router with the phone jack, how do I assign my phone number to it and how do I set it up? Why can't I use a phone router for both the phone and as a router, which I am doing now? Why do I need separate ones for the phone and for a home router?

Even a 12 year old can just say go to the store and buy one without offering up additional information. That is exactly zero help without explanations like I originally asked for. Maybe you people know how to do it, but I don't and that is why I ask for help. I don't ask just to get my post count up.

Does anyone have any real information who has actually done this before?
