Anyone work at Roush in Allen Park? What kind of insight can you give me working for the company?
I'm looking for a job. I might apply. I have 30 years of mechanics experience with Master ASE and state certification.

Roush 9 is a fucking sweat shop. Assholes stealing tools as soon as you turn your back. Crazy tight working space. It's the least desirable place to work in That company.

Yup went down for the interview just to see what it was like looked like a bread line at the time clock, poorly lit , very dirty and the promise of 7 - 12s - I felt like I needed a shower after I left

I still went to lunch and nothing was said, they know they can ask, but can't enforce, I think they say it to get new guys to do it

I know a few people who have worked there. Sounds like a Chinese sweatshop from what I've heard. Run away.

I worked with a couple guys who came from the fabrication department at roush. They said it was horrible working there. They said they made much better money and better insurance when they left and came to my shop.

Roush does have pretty good/cheap insurance. I will give them that.

I've turned down many requests to work on projects at 9 (Allen Park). No thanks, I'll stay at 50. I'm happy here.

I spent some time there as a contractor. Was a horrible experience. Avoid that place like the plague.

definitely avoid 9, along with 82(next door)

and the Allen Park police station is now in the same building as 9

9 is usually where they send all of the fuck-ups and people they are on the verge of firing.

I think it depends a lot on who you're working for, and what you do. I'm a prototype fabricator. Mostly one-offs, tooling, templates, and small production runs. We're treated pretty well in our building, and the buildings my department supports. I've heard from some guys from other buildings that the longer term production projects can be pretty bad.
